Water pollution is the contamination of bodies of water that is a result of human activities. The bodies of water that can be contaminated are lakes, rivers, streams, oceans, and aquifers. Water pollution can poison the water, and make food sources unhealthy to eat. Water pollution can result to eurtrophication, which causes algae to grow fast in large amounts. There are a lot of ways to stop water from being polluted. The biggest problem is when people pour hazardous products down their own sinks, toilets, or drains. Another easy way to keep pollutants out of bodies of water is to recycle and dispose of all trash appropriately.
Air pollution is the harmful substances that are being emitted into the atmosphere. Examples of air pollution include smog, acid rain, the green house effect, and hole in the ozone layer. Since Michigan is known for their industry of automobiles, the largest portions of air pollution are from automobiles. Side effects of air pollution can be short or long term. The short-term side effects include headaches, allergic reactions, nausea, and irritation to the eyes and throat. Long-term effects include lung cancer, heart disease, and damage to the brain. When the air is being polluted, soil can become unsuitable for plants. This affects animals and their food webs because they depend on plants for energy and food. One of the easiest ways to stop air pollution is to drive a car that gets at least thirty-five miles a gallon. Another easy way to cut down on air pollution would be to try carpooling, walking, riding a bike, or ride a bus to school or a daily job.
Light pollution is all the unnatural light and is a result of industrial civilization. Light pollution is most likely one of the least known pollutions. When people think of light, they don’t believe it to be a pollutant. Light pollution can increase the amount of headaches individuals receive. It can also cause fatigue, stress, and anxiety. Another major factor that scientists believe is that it can increase the risk of breast cancer. Although it hasn’t been proven, a bigger risk of break cancer is very important. An environmental issue that comes from light pollution is changing the behavior of nocturnal birds, which they use to fly into a lit area. This is the easiest way to cut down on pollution. Only use light when it is specifically needed. Another way is to use lights downwards or use shields to reduce light towards unneeded spots.
Industrial pollution hurts the environment in a number of ways. It has a negative impact on humans and their health. The different pollutants can kill animals and plants, imbalance ecosystems, decrease air quality, damage buildings, and degrade the quality of life. There are many ways to help the environment, which can lead to a healthier world.

Industrial Pollution is not only dangerous in the United States, but throughout the world. Industrial Pollution has resulted in 50% of the nation’s pollution. Industrial Pollution was first widespread in the 1800s, which was the start of the Industrial Revolution. The problem was mostly caused by the use of fuels, such as coal. ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the topic you chose because I feel that pollution is a large problem today too. I think the majority of the population already knows what pollution is, however, I like you also included a not so known type of pollution (light). Including the known and not so known tells me you dugg deep into your research and enjoyed doing the project. I had a general idea about these types of pollution, though after reading this I have a stronger grasp on the topic. I also enjoyed you visual aid and how you chose to create the pictures. After thinking about pollution, the only photo I could think of doing was a recycle bin. After looking at your photos, I found the idea quite ingenius. Overall, I enjoyed your reflection on the project and found it very interesting.
I really liked your topic. It was creative and a really good idea. A lot of people talk about pollution, but don't really know what it is, what causes it, and what they can do to help prevent it.

People dont realize how bad pollution is really getting.If everyone starts helping some way, maybe we will have a chance to decrease the amount of pollution that is killing our plant and animal life.
